Many years ago I picked up a few of these Romanian 22's figuring some day I would restock them to kinda look like a mauser 98. You know for the grandkids if they would want one. Well here is the first one, 99 percent completed. I must reinstall the front sight cover, had to take it off to get the bands over the sight. For the eagle eye yes the trigger also must get reinstalled. My daughter is home on spring break and if I am to get pictures of this project on the forum she must do it. Well I have a few more to do and I plan on improving on each one. These do take more time than I thought they would. When I have all of them done then I will blue all the bands. This is nothing special just a little unique for me and what the heck winter seems to want to stay so this keeps me busy. Here it is beside my son's VZ 24.

Looks very nice, how much time do you estimate you put into your progject?

All the woodwork took about 4 days. I can only do this stuff when I am off pain meds and that tends to prolong the project. The bands only took about half a day and I never thought they would come together that fast. I have a good week on this one. The next one will go faster and I am going to use a chunk of the cherry we got a couple weeks ago. I dreaded the top hand guard but that really wasn't to bad when all was done.

Well done. A fine project that really came together.
