I purchased this Mauser for a 358 win project that failed to get off the ground. So I am looking to part with it. As it says in the title 1909 Mauser 7.65 x 53 has williams peep sight. The barrel has been shortened to 20 inches and the bore is dark but the rifling is strong. I am interested in what users here think it's value would be. Thanks for your input.

I can only give you my opinion based on my recent buying experiences.

In the past month I purchased a well worn, but complete, 1909 cavalry carbine for $180 from a pawn shop and a very nice 1909 sporter with a Lyman receiver sight and an aftermarket checkered walnut Mannlicher style stock for $365 from a private seller.

I probably would not do more than $225 for your rifle. You could probably part it out for more than that however.

Nice rifle.

Most gun shops will probably offer $150 - $200, at most, due to it still being a mil. rifle that was semi sportered.Robert
