Anybody ever put an air operated piston on lubesizer to keep constant pressure on lube so you dont have to crank on handle all the time.

Most Stars are air now, much less hassle, air and heat and "Bob's your uncle".

I just got my Magma air set up, it uses SMC NCMB106-0600 air cylinder.

I also converted a couple of Star lube sizers with air cylinder. I used my inside parts of star, bought one fine thread coupler for air cylinder, one standard thread that fit the star , cut each in half welded together and assembled. The air cylinder screws into the nut on top of star and the air cylinder shaft goes through the star nut and inside the fine thread/standard thread adapter connects to existing star internals. Install regulator and away you go.

Star sells the entire setup for $100 and you just use your Hycar washer off the screw assembly and your set. I use a 7 gallon air tank that holds 125 psi for my air supply. You don't need an air compressor as the Star only uses the pressure to maintain the pressure just like your tires on your car do. Just buy a 7-10 gallon air tank and fill it at your local station and if you use teflon tape on all your connections then you are set for at least 6 months or longer. My present tank of air has been on my Star for about 6 months now.
I do have a large shop air compressor as I use 1/2 inch air impact wrenches and such.
They have so many guys who say that the wife complains about the noise of the air compressor. Hey guys, You don't need one!
The air cylinder and the shovel handle are the two best Star extra's that a person may buy. I used my first Star in 1970 while employed in a gun store and purchased that one in 1972.

What psi do you run on the Lube Sizer?

Depends on the lube you're using and if your using a heated base or not, Mine's heated and I use Magma lube and run about 70 PSI, Star recommends 60 for their air system. I would imagine the size of the piston in the cylinder would make a difference also.

With it's central threaded rod going down through the lube, it may be a little more difficult to rig up the RCBS unit. Compared to the Star, the Rcbs is very slow so i don't believe that you would save that much time with that conversion.
