I'm working up my knowledge base on cast bullets and decided to go purchase a few boxes of Berry's plated bullets so I can configure loads for them with future 'manufacturing' in mind.
Powder: I have IMR 700X powder
Bullets are .452 cal 185 grain Hollow Base Round Nose.
The powder manufacturer only has data for Jacketed Semi-Wad Cutters which is the following:
Bullet Powder dia. Length Gr. Vel Pressure
Starting load: 185 GR. HDY JSWC IMR 700-X .451" 1.135" 4.9 873 14,000 CUP
Max load: 185 GR. HDY JSWC IMR 700-X .451" 1.135" 5.5 959 17,100 CUP
This web site mangles alignment but it's 4.9 - 5.5 grains.
Berry's states the following however: Max Velocity: 1250fps
I'm assuming it's fine to develop this round up to 1250fps but wanted verification.
The gun is a Sig Sauer P250 Compact in 45 ACP.
Thanks in advance for your input.
