I was in the cafeteria at work the other day talking to a fellow Harley rider. He asked me if I still cast bullets, then He said a friend of His bought an old print shop and He was looking for a way to get rid of the old garbage printers lead. (can you see where this is going?) [smilie=1: Needless to say next week I am going there to take several 5 gallon bucket of Lino to "Help Him Out". Before I get yelled at.....Yes I am paying Him and yes I am paying my co-worker a finders fee. Mitch (Co-worker) is getting a bunch of 240 gr. 44 mag SWC's and a case of beer of His Choice, and the owner of the old print shop is getting beer and cash. The of $$ will depend on the amount of Lino. I was down to about 200 # in the "Bullet Barn" and was wondering where I would find my next source. I'm convinced that the casting Gods are smiling on me! :-D They actually wanted to know how much I would charge Him to haul it away. I don't think i'd be able to sleep at night if I did that. :drinks:

For what it's worth, I've found of couple of scrapyards here in Southern California that handle lino and know what it is. One sells it for 80 cents/lb, the other for 50 cents. WWs are 30 cents/lb...no extra charge for condom wrappers, etc.

That's kind of how I got my linotype. A friend was given the task of cleaning out an old print shop. After much reminding (and whining and begging) by me, he showed up at my house one afternoon with 1500 pounds in the back of his 3/4 ton pickup. It was all in letter form and loose in the box of the truck. It took an hour to shovel it out. I bought him a half gallon of Crown Royal.

Sundogg,

You should have charged him 5 buckets of wheel weights to haul away the lino! :kidding:
