My Wife swears something is wrong with me as I sit night after night on the Castboolits forum. There is no explaining the addiction!

Now if my wife didn't think I had at least ONE problem (she probably thinks I have many), I'd think she was feeling poorly :-) It's just the nature of wives. Of course, at this point in our relationship (after 44 years of marriage), she has long since given over trying to change me and is resigned to live with the man she married.

Give it another thirty or forty years, ya'all will be alright.

Well I'm at 36 years & counting so I know she's gotta love me! Who else would put up with my bad habits & when it comes down to it, she is still the spark in my life!
( had to put that down here just in case she decides to join this forum)

My wife says that I have problems! (plural) Shooting, reloading, casting, gun building, lead scrounging, etc, etc...........
I tell her that it keeps me out of the bars and pool halls, and ask her which she would prefer that I do? That generally ends the conversation! :Fire:

If my wife did not tell me what I do wrong I think maybe I would think I was perfect but notice the but she makes sure I know I fall short of being perfect

Last GF got a bit agitated when I settled down in my recliner with the latest issue of American Rifleman, she knew better than to object to the CB forum! Gonna miss her.....someday.

This is my nightly habit while my wife watches TV, I'm reading cast boolits. She tells me that I have a problem as well. Casting, reloading and shooting has been my hobby for too many years to change now, I'm a hopeless case. I normally do more reading than posting.

Reminds me of a joke. An unfaithful man visited his mistress on the way home and fell asleep after their....interaction. He awoke, jumped up and got dressed. He asked his mistress for some body powder, which he promptly patted onto the front and sides of his slacks. Then he dribbled a bit of stale beer on his shirt and hurried out the door.
Upon arrival home his wife took one good look (and whiff) and asked where...he'd been. He admitted he'd been with his mistress and begged her forgiveness. She smacked him in the temple and stormed off to the guest bedroom. "Yeah, right!! You've been out playing pool and drinking with the boys!"

Do you and your wife a favor and turn off the computer. Go out to dinner, go see a movie, cast some bullets, go out shooting, go browse around Bass Pro Shop, go for a walk, barbecue some steaks, in short live life. These forums get addicting and it doesn't do a relationship, your shooting, or your health any good. If I'd have spent as much time in the last 5 years excersizing casting bullets and practicing at the range as I have sitting in front of this stupid thing I'd be up to my *** in bullets and the best shooter to ever walk the face of the earth. Plus I'd weigh 50 pounds less and be out chasing 25 year olds.

This place will no doubt result in X3 ........... except the she seems to like sifting burms, blowing up gallon jugs, crushing jackets, (s)melting, pouring, sizing, brass prep, powder pouring,seat,box/can,repeat as needed.

Good points, Pat. Forums can be a timesuck. OTOH I've disconnected my SatTV and don't do Facebook much thanks to CB and TFL. I seem to do my best thinking when I'm driving, mowing or pouring lead. There's no substitute for good company but until I meet a woman as good as your bride I'll keep on reading, typing and even pouring now and then. Gonna be nice this weekend, think I'll try to rescue a buddy from his wife and go shooting.

i hear the same :)
except she is happy casue it keeps me off her and keeps her shooting.
because of this site i now have to make her pink boolits for her pink gun.
she actually has 9 different colors picked out now.

she also says "you actually read all those pages on all those different tabs you have open?"
"you could make me more boolits, rather then reading about some guy that used his mold without handles"
"what is a 300blackout? oooohhhh that is neat, i WANT one!

Olevern- grats on 44 years of marriage! that is awesome. did ya get a .44 for anniversery?
JWfilips- grats to you aswell 36 years is impressive

but i did get a great one cause she loves to shoot, and cast!
and i did find it sexy when she said i was banned from buying anymore .45's till she got one for herself.

It seems we all have the same problem, A NAGGIN WOMAN!!!!! I guess it's in their DNA, but what would we do without em? As far as what to say when they start in on the shootin, castin and reloadin, just tell em "sure I'll quit and go back to racing cars, playin Pool, drinkin Beer and chasein women, if that's what you want honey" After the ice finally thaughs in a day or two they leave you alone about the gun stuff for awhile!

Having two ex wives I've learned that:
If I have not P.O.'d a woman every day It means one of two things. I've not gotten out of bed or I'm dead.
Since it's life affirming to P.O. women I do it early and often.

My wife gave up and joined me.last time I was at the bench she came out and asked
if I wanted help. She sized 500 .41 mags while I trimmed some rifle brass.

Now I'm worried!

This place is a lot safer than driving to the bar to play pool with the buds like the old days she would of ben way ahead if she would have let me buy a pool table 30 years ago.

We have been married for 50years and I grew up fishing, hunting, camping, shooting and my wife likes the great outdoors as much as I do.She has spent untold hours helping me give rebirth to ammo. Back when I had a sideline ammo business she, inspected cases, finished rounds and boxed them, kept primer tubes and cases feeder topped off ,brought me tea, soda, coffee and if a customer needed directions or insisted on hanging around while I loaded 500 rounds which they just had to have for a match the next day she would keep them out of my hair politely.

The one in our living room belongs to my wife. She wanted one for years so when we moved here siz years ago the PT was the first piece of furniture I purchased.

I think most women would agree that we need some level of supervision.
Me ? I have always thought if one is good two must be better.

Behind any good man is a women shaking her head.

You haven't seen my wife. I wear kevlar body protection, because if she's behind me, I can smell the skin burning on my back!!
One time I did get a pic of one of her eyes with my camera phone. I was telling her how pretty she looked, and I guess it didn't set right with her!!
I don't think it helped though, she must've heard me mumble you old evil eyed battleaxe!!
But here's a pic of the one evil eye I caught on camera...makes me shudder and let go of a yellow stream everytime I think of it!
http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n569/91msd92/evil_red_eye_by_aussiguy_zpsb43b2985.jpg

I did change her name though, I softened it up a bit. I got tired of battleaxe and renamed her the evil eyed wart!!

My girl actually thought I WAS "surfing" and came up behind me to look over my shoulder and bust me. I'll tell you when I said "What? It's a reloading forum!" she was quite relieved. It's not her favorite subject, but even she has to admit, it could be a LOT worse!

Guns or women?

The old trapper in the movie Jerimiah Johnson summed it up when he said ( and I loosely para phrase). I can track any animal over any ground, even rock or frozen, but I cain't ever find any tracks on the heart of a woman...

Correct me if I got it wrong...
