Hi Fellas
I'm pretty stoked,I have 2 new L/A on order all I have to do is get my permit to purchase in(Australian Gun laws?
The first one is a Marlin 444 the blued version,I have been planning to get this firearm for nearly a year now,but money has been tight,what with my sick Stepdad and me paying his bills and my own,it was hard there for awhile,so I decided to trade my .300 Winchester Mag in a Model 70 Sporter Magnum that I had only shot 25 rounds in the twenty years that I had it,traded that for a brand new Marlin 444 and two boxes of Remington 240gr 444 ammo,do you know how much the ammo costs here?try $120 for 40 rounds:( what a rip off.The Marlin will cost $990AU
I'm glad last year I imported 1800 projectiles from the US as well as 500 unprimed 444 brass all for the 444,so I'll be reloading mine with the J word and also with the various moulds I have for the 444,so as you can see I was intent on getting a 444:-D

Just have to wait for the Marlin to come from the US,apparently Marlin cannot keep up with demand and orders for other countries are 2nd to the orders for the US population,the distributor for Marlin here in Australia reckons it could be 6weeks to 6 months wait:( :(

The second L/A is a Rossi Puma in .454 Casull,I cannot wait to get this either,already bought dies and brass,even moulds for it,going to use it on wild pigs,goats and maybe even our premier deer,the Sambar.

That is what I was told by my gundealer,he said the distributor here in Australia would order,say 20 guns from Marlin and only receive 8 out of the 20 he ordered and most of those are on backorder.
I don't know,all I know is I want my Marlin now:)

As far as USA-made leverguns go, they are the only game in town now. I'm happy for Marlin if they are able to sell their products readily, I just hope that allocations and price gouging don't follow in the wake of their monopoly-like position. There are a number of off-shore levergun makers, perhaps that will keep them less avaricious.

I looked one over at our gander mountain store and it was real smooth and now I wish I had one.I read an article in handloader magazine saying that 270 gold dots will drop deer right in their tracks with this caliber.I like the 35 remington also.Both are good brush guns.I have a Marlin 357CB and like it a lot.I haven't shot anything else since I got it.I'll probably wear out my 357 molds making boolits for it.

I bought over 600 Speer Gold Dot Bullets in 240 & 270gr that 'll be using for the 444,plus I have the Ranchdog Mould .432-270-RF that casts a .434 boolit,very nice too:-D

Hi 34570! Am Also In Aust. Sa. In Fact. 180km From Vic Border. I Suffer From The Same Legislative Woes As You . I Use An 1894c Marlin 357., 45lc. Rossi. And 1894 Win . 94 That Was Modded To 16 Inch Carbine Length By John Saunders Of Century Firearms In Balwyn Some 15+ Years Ago. I Also Used To Have A 444. Early Model With Slim Wood And Very Well Finished Metal. Regret Selling Now. I Do Have Some Compenents @ A Set Of C-h Dies. David.
