Rapine vs. Lyman. Any thoughts? I'm currently using Lyman's 454190 for CAS, but I've been thinking about Rapine. Maybe I should have posted as, Aluminum vs Iron!

Iron is more durable and stand alittle more abuse. However Alum. is easier on the $$$$$$. As for Rapine haven't use there molds. But I have over 70 Iron molds of different cal. and about 15 Alum. mold LBT. NEI and Lee and like them in the order listed. But I am sold on Iron molds, I tend to be a little ruff with my casting.

Where does one get Rapine molds nowadays?

Buffalo Arms still lists a few, mostly RB or minnie types though. I'd live to know where you can find a complete listing. A google search turns up several articles that speak praises but no full line of moulds anwhere I saw.

Is still in business.
Spoke with Ray Rapine just a few minutes ago and yes, he is still in business.
Very enjoyable conversation was held.
Veteran from Korean war and later Germany and Lebanon.
He is sending me a current listing of moulds he is making.
Rapine Bullet Mould Co
9503 Landis Ln
East Greenville, PA 18041
(215) 679-5413
He is sending me his brochure and if possible, I'll post pictures of each page.
Have no idea about prices at this juncture.
Caters a lot to the international shooter and CAS it sounded like.
Pointed him to our humble abode so he may chime in here.
Now you know basically as much as I do.
Oh, for those who have expressed a desire to manufacture moulds, his business is for sale.

Rapine moulds are darn good moulds.I have never wore one out and one has cast 15-20 K rounds. Do that with a Lee.He makes a lot of moulds for odd guns and makes a LOT of minnes types for CW skirmishers. If the mould cast the wrong size he will exchange it.
He allways sets up a booth at the N-SSA nationals in Winchester Va. in May and Oct.

Ray is a great guy to talk to. Be prepared for a phone bill! :drinks:
I think he has a one man operation but I am not sure. I buy his handles for my home made molds and I use his molds and mold prep. He is a source of knowledge you don't want to pass up.
He asked me if I wanted to buy his business but I am almost 70. How I wish I was younger with some money.

Sounds good. I am younger, but it is the money angle that is a problem. Spent 18 years living below the poverty line thanks to child support, still trying to get back to a reasonable condition.
