On a lark I bought a 8.5" CMMG 1:7 Wasp bbl and built an upper for my registered M16. Threaded end of the muzzle turned out to be inside the YHM handguard I used. Realized the 5/8x24 adapter for the Octane 9HD2 was not always staying in the can when it was removed, so had to wait until TROS did a run of 5/8x24 3 lug adapters.

Adapter is finally in and upper is a little longer but much better to mount and dismount the can.

With other things to do, haven't done much reloading for that length barrel ... I also have a 16" that has worked really well with 2400 and jacketed projectiles and the 247 NOE.

I do not have any AA1680 available.

Anyone have loading suggestions for this short a bbl with that boolit?

I've seen AR pistols running subs with full function with h110, lil gun, Imr 4227, w296 and of course a1680. I personally loaded about 20 with h110 using accurate 31-240E(245gr) but read of possible issues with h110 and saved it for supers. Now using a1680, 10.3gr seated to 2.11, gives full function. Both accurate and hogdens have sub data on their websites. I started high and worked down til I lost function.

I've not had luck with W296/H110 in 16" carbine length gas uppers functioning at subsonic speeds.
