Trying to help a friend; need help identifying this pistol so that I can order a firing pin for it. At first glance, it appears to be a Rohm revolver in .32 S&W Long. But besides all matching serial numbers, one arsenal stamp, and Made in Germany on the barrel, I'm stumped. Its an all steel revolver, bluing isn't bad. The side plate does note the following: Gerstenberger, U. Eberwein, Gussenstadt. I'd appreciate any information. I'm hoping I can find the make/model to make it fully operational. Otherwise, it will become a training pistol.

Thanks,

HV

But I've not found anything like this one anywhere. Not even any photos that are close. Thanks for your help!

I'll keep searching too. I thought this would make a dandy fishing-tackle box pistol. 32 S&W long cartridge would be fine for snakes, etc.

It is a Gerstenberger & Eberwein. Here's a photo of one.

That's what it is. Somehow it seems as if it was manufactured by Rohm (The same company that made the Roscoe revolvers.) That particular revolver was where we got the street slang term "Roscoe."

I have a RG 31(Rohm) that is not even similar...this one is the snub 38 cousin to the 22 snub RG that John Hinkley used on Reagan and Brady...

Gun blue book info:
Previous firearms manufacturer located in Sontheim an der Brenz, Germany. Limited importation into the U.S. Röhm still manufactures gas alarm pistols, mostly for European sales.
Röhm produced inexpensive revolvers for the U.S. marketplace during the late 1960s-1970s. Most of these guns were built as sub-contracts for U.S. companies and/or distributors (i.e., Hy-Score, a previous distributor located in Brooklyn, NY). Some of the models included are RG-7 through RG-88 (21 variations), Romo, Thalco, Valor, Vestpocket, Western Style, Zephyr, and others. Röhm also manufactured a few semi-auto pistols (RG-25 and RG-26) at approx. the same time. Currently, these guns are seen priced in the $35-$125 range, as the shooting value determines the price tag, not collector interest

No pic's that is all the info it shows.

Actually, the term "Roscoe" for pistol long predates the Rohm revolvers of that name. It was current slang in the early 1900's. 50+ years before the Rohm revolver of that name.
