A generous buddy gave me between two and three hundred pounds of 1/16 thick lead sheet in about a four foot tall roll. This was leftover material from a job installing x-ray shielding in a clinic. As far as I know this is pure lead - so it's too soft for most casting applications. Anyone got a formula for alloying this stuff to make it suitable for boolit casting? I envision smelting the lead sheet to produce ingots, just like I do with wheel weights. Perhaps alloying should happen while making ingots for the production pot?

Thanks,
Sudboy

It kinda depends on what you want to use it in, that in itself can be a challenge to some. Or here's another thought, trade it for WW lead pound for pound that way both are happy. And if you want to do that let me know......

50/50 Pb/ww air cooled for most any pistol application, water dropped for most any but the most extreme rifle use, including hunting.
