28 ga home made sabot

Today we played a little with alluminum and came up with a mold to make a foster style slug to load in a 28 ga wad.

slug diameter 12.5 mm .492 inch

slug in wad 13.8 mm .543 inch

the mold is made in such a way that the lenght of the slug can be varied, so we can get different weigh slugs. Soon we will do testing to see how accurate it is.

the pin underneath the mold is adjustable, so i can get any weigh i want. The one you see in the picture is 18 grams (277 grains).
