I have an opportunity to buy a 4506,
The seller is asking $650 and that will include 7 or 8 mags

The gun is used, but it is in great shape.
No cosmetic issues,
It has the factory grips.

Given the current climate in the gun world, I think it's a fair deal, especially considering the mags for this thing are $30+ each.

I am planing to counter offer $600 tomorrow when I see him at church

Thank you

Jump on that as a duck would on a June Bug!

+1!
You will not regret it.
I had a 645 & a 4506 (no dash)
I traded the 645 somewhat reluctantly, but I will never sell the 4506
It is built like a .45 auto-pistol should be, from an era of quality & pride

I carried the 4506 as a law enforcement officer for almost 10 years. No other semi-auto .45 locks up as sure and as solid as the 4506. They are extemely reliable and will shoot anything you feed them. The 4506 was Smith and Wesson's significant upgrade on the 645. The 4506 is similar to the 4006 which has been in service for what, 20 years? These guns are build to be shot and to last. I bought my 4506 after two other .45's failed to function for me.

If you can get it for 600, you have a great deal. Those are excellent pistols that for some reason failed to get the credit they deserved back in the day. The only knock on them is that they are heavy, compared to some plastic framed pistols. $650 with 6 mags would still be a good deal. I'd buy it.

well, i bought the gun, i ended up paying $650
it came with 7 mags.

i shot it today with some factory ammo, and some reloads.
it shot great.

the sights are dead on, what i great shooting gun.
the trigger dose leave a bit to be desired, but i hope
i can take care of that when i go to gunsmithing school.

You won't be sorry. I when I owned mine, at the end of the day I'd unloaded it and make two dry fire clicks with it while holding a sight picture. One double action one single actions. I never had a problem with my 4506. Maasod Ayoob has written about what a great gun the 4506 is. You paid about what they are going for.

Hi,
Congrats! You have a pistol you can bet your life on! Wayne Novak is the man to take care of that trigger for you and anything else you might need. I gave a 4506 to my young nephew which he kept for years but then wanted something newer and lighter so traded it in on a 9MM S&W M&P pistol. They gave me $450 trade on it!!!

Here is a pic of my S&W 645 which I will NEVER sale! I thought about sending this to Novaks but it shoots so good already?
