I acquired some larger ingots in various shapes over the last few months. They range between 10-45#. They sure won't got my Lee pot and they won't fit my cast iron pot either. How are you guys cutting these up? I also have a huge rolled up sheet of lead. Any ideas on how to ingot all of this

Tin snips on the sheet material.
Axe or chain saw on the large ingots.

Sheet can be cut with axe, skil saw or razer knife. large ingots use a skil saw or band saw and a log splitter will cut them too!! Clint

Sweet thanks! I have a bunch of wheel weights to smelt too. It's going to be a busy spring

I have cut sheet lead with an axe, roll it up and chop it to length to fit your pot, tin snips, and a metal shear. Larger pieces I have cut with reciprocating saw (use wood blade), skill saw (carbide blade, go slow) and axe. You need a face shield when using a skill saw and if you saw on a tarp you can recover the shavings.

A jig saw would work or a sawsall for the ingots. The sheet lead should be easy enough with tin snips like others have mentioned.

if it will fit in your pot stand it up and melt and pour as you go.

For the sheets.. Roll them up tight and run both the blocks and the sheets through a wood splitter. You'll have to rotate them a couple times but at least there will be no mess. Who cares what shapes they end up in. Then.. Melt'm up and make some ingots. :-)

For the sheet lead I use limb loppers or a hatchet. For the big ingots I have a big pot and use a tripod and chain hoist to lower the ingot in to melt part off, cast ingots and lower more into pot.

I'm supposing a porta band would jam up?

I used a blow torch and a cast iron pan under it to cut up one block. The band saw did not work very well on anything over 1" thick. Never thought to try the sawzall.

Port-a-band works great for cutting up lead. I use mine to cut lead pipe into 6-7inch chunks plus whittle pieces off my big twisted up 1/4" lead sheet. You have to watch out for twisting the blade and chewing up the rubber strips on the drive wheels. Get the course blade.
Otherwise a good hacksaw and wood blade works ok along with a skillsaw and carbide blade.
