I have the speer book. If you are loading for the 9mm luger, what is the bullet part number (it'll be on the box somewhere)? I can look up the OAL for you.

None of my manuals provide an OAL specifically for Speer JSPs. Are those the old (out-of-production) round-nose JSPs or the current flat-point JSPs? If they're the RNs, you can use the same load data and OAL (1.16") as for 124 gr. FMJs. The newer flat-points, though, have a significantly different ogive and may take some experimenting to find the best OAL for your gun.

I use to load that bullet to 1.090 COAL, the same length that Speer loaded that bullet in their old Lawman ammunition line. I used data from their #9 Manual and maximum charges of Bluedot in my HP.

'Plunk test' for proper OAL. The numbers in a book are just an average.

the lee manual i have is not brand specific and lists a 125 grain fmj bullet should be set at 1.35 using accurate number 5 should i go with that data or is the oal diff for that old of a bullet
