Just received a backordered Lee 358-125 rfp 6 cavity that appears to have extremely shallow vent lines. The semi-circular pattern is visible but just barely. I am not sure if there is enough depth to the lines to actually vent air. The vent lines inside
are on a par with the depth that the lines on the top surface under the sprue plate usually has.
I normally bevel the top inside edge of the blocks where they meet but I am not sure if that will be enough to get full fill out.

Normally I would send it back but with "things being the way they are now" I would rather try to make it work if I can.

What would you do?

Try casting with it.

What Bill said. You never know until you have put some lead through it.

My best casting mould is an ancient Ideal 308291 that doesn't have any vent lines.

Mine came in two days ago and looks exactly the same way. I'm going to try it before I make any moves. If I have to I will cut some vent lines in it.

Yeah I'm gonna see what it does later next week.
I must admit, I ordered with a sneaky feeling that Lee's iffy QC might be even iffy-er in today's high demand climate.
Thanks guys

I've added vent lines and lapped with Comet on a few stubborn molds and even individual cavities.
