Hi guys

I saw this on Armslist.com and had to have it. Don't know much about it, I was hoping someone here had some experience with them.

It is a
Iver Johnson
Trojan model
45 ACP
4.25 inch barrel
Mint condition
Paid 500 for it

I am curious if you think it was a good deal? I guess it doesn't matter I am really happy with it. It fed reliably with factory rounds, have yet to put any boolits thru it. It hits a tin can every time at 15 yards.

Crawdaddy:
Thats a good lookin piece. I looked on line, and the Trogan is manufactured in the Philipines to Iver Johnsons specifications. They use a cast cnc machined frame, and a forged cnc machined slide. The other parts are MIM. It looks to be a fairly good piece, and did get a good review. Enjoy.

This is a decent "entry level" piece. A good, healthy, reliable and functional 1911-type .45 ACP is an excellent asset. This pistol would be a good buy for anyone.

Had I the money, I would buy it.

IIRC, the Philippine 1911 is being manufactured and sold under at least three names. Rock Island, American Tactical and Iver Johnson. All three companies has their own specs with Rock Island having at least two grades of the pistol. At 1911.com they are well spoken of, reliable, as well as their customer service. They seem to be a bargain in the 1911 market as it stands today.

Now if only they would make a 5" barreled model in 10mm Auto. :)

That beats a lot of other choices. It's a proven design in a proven caliber. Uncle Jeff would be proud. Rules for a gunfight;
#1 bring a gun
#2 must go bang, every time...............
#3 adequate caliber
#4 everything else
