Decided to "pull the trigger" (forgive me !) on a Kidd trigger kit for the 10/22.
Wow, that's nice ! No creep, none, zip, zilch, nada; 1 3/4 lb pull - (dedicated target gun, Green Mountain bull bbl, Fajen stock, piller bedded, monster scope).

I think well worth the $100 - and 3 days order to door !!

What say you - any other 10/22 nuts out there ?

I have a seventies vintage sporter model hanging in the barn with a Leupold four power on it that is older than the rifle . It got an aftermarket hammer installed about thirty years ago and shoots many different types of ammo well . Currently it is loaded with CCI velocitors and it's job is keeping the front lawn free from woodchucks . A job it does pretty good at .

i love my 10/22 have a ton tied up into it.
once ya find it's ammo it really sings. i run alot of federals and get 1 inch groups at 50yds, but if i get out the elays it tightens up to 1/2 or 3/4".
sub sonics for longer range really help. furtherst i have brought mine is 300yds, gonna try 400 this summer.
lol it is like lobbing a mortar, but fun to see hear it hit!
did my own trigger, whistlepig custom barrel and a mueller 4.5 x 14 scope "best rimfire scope ever!"
how about some pics?

a friend has a kidd trigger and it is great! he had a volquartsen before that and the kidd out performs it in every way..

That sounds exactly like the one I installed in my Take Down last year. I used the lightest spring in the spring kit, polished the trigger ruturn plunger and it breaks like a glass rod at 26oz on my RCBS scale. He had them on sale last summer for $89 shipped. If he has them on sale again I might get one just to have for the next 10/22.

Lets see how adding pix works !!

Late 90's 10/22, Green Mtn bbl, BSA 8-32 x x40 scope, Fajen stock (bought unfinished - they mean it when they say "unfinished" !!), Rimfire Tech "pull" mag release, home made bolt knob, and the Kidd trigger.

These 10-22's are too much fun!!!

Nice trigger, it will make all the difference in the world.

I did my own trigger work & 1# 14oz is all I could get out of mine with no creep. I also set back & recut the chamber on my bull bbl & put a true match chamber in it. Doing those 2 things turned my 10-22 into a fly swatter.

What kind of accuracy are you getting with yours?

Yep, they are a hoot ! And pretty easy to mod.

I got a trigger group down to 1 lb 8 oz once - could never get the adj sear right to get rid of the creep, after about 50 rounds it started doubling on me - back to the drawing board (Kidd) lol

My Green Mtn bbl likes CCI Green Tag - I have gotten enough 0.25 " c-t-c 5 shot groups at 50 yd to figure the worse ones are me - zero creep trigger should help.

I actually got nice groups (0.35") with sorted Rem Thunderbolt - sorted for weight and then for rim thickness - something to do in the winter !! lol

Getting nice groups with CCI std vel, a few fliers though - may sort some. (I need to get a life!)

Ive got a kidd 2 stage in my 10-22t. The best trigger I have seen. But for the price they should be. If you want a good shooting rifle its got to have a good trigger or nothing else matters.

I've built a Baker's dozen 10/22s. The Kidd trigger is the best of any trigger I have ever fired in a 10/22. Now if he would just make one for my 96s, I'd be all set!

Dayton-Traister makes great M96 triggers.

I have always been fond of the 10/22. Have six of them in the safe now, there have been more. :D
I have two set up as target rifles with a Kidd in both, a couple for hunting and a couple for tin can rolling fun.
They are fun to tinker with and rough on ya pocket book if you buy all the after market goodies for them.
Great .22 rifles , lots of fun to own and shoot.

Unfortunatly, I was turned off from 10/22's at a young age. I had my own .22 rifle (marlin 60) when I was 7 years old. I graduated to a CBC Nylon .22 not long after and began shooting that little gun like a rock star. I could knock the bottom out of a glass pepsi bottle at 25 yards with open sights. My dad used to place bets with his buddies on my abilities.
Well, my best friend got a 10/22 for his birthday and I was in love--until I shot it. My little CBC could shoot circles around that Ruger, and I never touched another one until I turned 35. My friend got one of those ruger chargers and could shoot 1" groups at 50 yards, and it is also extremely reliable and fun to shoot.
My plan is to buy the next 10/22 I can get a good deal on and start my custom build.
