Which Lyman M die for 30 40 Krag

I've never loaded 30 cal cast boolits before.......
Which Lyman M die do I need for the Krag, boolits sized to .311

The one I use has "31 R" on the expander. The holder is the long size.

They have a "long" size expander and a "short", you`ll want the "Long".Robert

A couple of thoughts;

1. The Krag rifle has a very long and large throat. You will find that it will give it's best performance with cast bullets in the .314 to .315 range. Bullets that range will work well regardless of the bore size, which are all over the map with these rifles. I have 4 Krag rifles and I use .314 cast bullets in them all.

2. Whatever bullet size you decide to use, an expander that is .001 smaller than the bullet will give you the best chance of excellent accuracy if everything else is rights as well.
