I tried to take a picture of the smoke over my cabin, but it was just a big grey smudge. So, here are a couple sunrise pictures, with the smoke adding some color.

Nice pictures. I took one earlier today as the sun sank....it is a dull orange globe seen through the smoke. We really got smoke today with that westerly wind, visibility was about 1 mile.


Here is a picture a friend sent of the Meriwether fire. This was taken about 2 miles downstream from where I lived before retirement.

you're not helping. I'm heading to montana this christmas break for a couple weeks of backcountry skiing. Jen says I have to come back...we gotta finish school before we head west.:roll:

Good news today on our local fire. It took another five mile run, but is going away from me. I hope it maintains that direction!

Dean, I have to drive up the mountain quite a ways to get good sunset shots.

2000 gpm ain't enough. You might be able to save the house w/ that. But a fire that big all your giong to do w/ 2000 gpm is p:twisted: :twisted: :twisted: it off.
