Talk about your best long range subsonic shooting

I have shot 200 yrds with my savage mk2 in 22lr, I am wanting to step it up to subsonic 30 cal (308 win)

I shoot 158 gr swc's at 1100 fps out of my lever guns to 200 yds regularly. During the load development phase managed a 10 shot 5" 200 yd group with peep sights. The 158 is about the same BC as a .22 and the wind affects it the same. Your .308 should do much better. Mine are accurate enough to shoot my 12" gong at 200 offhand. As long as the sights are good and I break the trigger ok, the gong clangs!

I use the 311284 sized to .309, that runs about 225gr when cast from wheelweights pushed by 7.5gr of Hodgdon Titgroup - gives me about 1050 - 1075 fps and a CCI LR primer.

Groups usually run about 1 MOA at 100 meters - I havent run them too much at 200 yds yet though.

Also going to try and run the 314299 soon both subsonic and supersonic.

I've shot very successfully to 800+ yards with my TD Carbine 45-70 with 405 cast bullets at 1150 fps muzzle velocity. Shoot a lot at 500 yards with the Rapine 46025- at 1050 fps out of both of my TDs.........

I also shoot a lot of .30/.31 and 8mm subsonic bullets to 200 - 300+ yards.

The majority of my BPCR reloads are 1200 fps and less shot at 1000yds.
With a 530+ gr bullet, an approximate 35' drop they hit the target in the mid 600 fps range. Accuracy is good ...
Sir John Halford wrote of a test in his 1880 book - subsonic reloads reduce harmonic vibrations of the barrel - thus providing better POI. Okie Dookie for subsonic?

577/450 Martini Henry running about 850 fps MV... Shooting a 520g slug... Easy to hit our 18" plate at 300 yards.... Sounds like a kid's pop-cork gun when it goes off...

200gr spire point 30-06 from 1000-1200 ,working up loads and shooting a bunch that worked, were easy hits on a steel man at 250. 2"groups at a 100 pretty regular.

I have a 338 Whisper in an Encore barrel, 300 MK at 1050 fps, very accurate out to 500 yds when I do my part.

I like the RD .311 in my SKS. 6 gr Trailboss @ around 1000 fps. Hits on 200 meter gong get boring. 300m gets challenging b/c of the windy conditions I usually shoot in.
