Don't have any experience swaging my own but was wondering whether I could use 223 Rem or 204 Ruger brass to make boolits for 375 H&H? Would that require custom tooling?

223 rem makes great 375 bullets. I just picked up a 375H&H as well and will be testing some of these very bullets in it soon.

Cool, thanks. The reason I would be interested in trying it is that I would like to make a higher BC bullet for long range shooting. This means it would need to have boat tail and also uniform density for stable spin.

Anything is possible! Not sure a 223rem jacket will get you what you are after but maybe 3/8" copper tubing jacket or sized down .408 jackets.

looking forward to reading your report on them Brian, at 75 cents a projectile here its worth getting a set of swage dies.

The 223 makes a great 375 bullet. I make open tips, lead tips, and plastic tips. I don't think you will get a boat tail from a 223 though. Maybe if you turned off the rim but copper tubing jackets from 3/8 tubing is the way to go for a boat tail.

Im wonderin if .223 brass cut off and useing tubing jacket making die the end closed up into a boatail.
Perhaps useing the case backwards with the thinner neck making the boattail, and the thicker material from closer to the web to form a very tough bullet nose.

I have thought of this as well. Some day I will give it a try.

I never thought of cutting off the head and using it like copper tube. Can't see the forest for the trees. It should work.
