Hi guys. Any of you have a recipe for a K-31 using a 120 gr plain base boolit?

Mine does not shoot anything below 150gr well at all, though it is VERY accurate with heavier ones. Maybe yours will like them. This is the only .30cal rifle I have ever owned that I couldn't find a good load with soupcans for. I have been looking for hunting loads, not plinking loads, so I haven't bothered with pistol powders at all. I have had good luck with 3031, 4064, 4895, RE7, and 860 with the heavier boolits.

I did one group of 20 loaded with the 311316GC Lyman sized to .310 and propelled by 8 gr Unique. Results were not too impressive, but then I think I should have sized to .308 due to the K-31's tight bore.

Use well fire formed NS'd cases. Start with 3.2 gr of Bullseye and work up in .3 gr increments until accuracy goes south (which will be between 1050-1400 fps. No filler or wad needed. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
