And keep in mind that the powders listed are probably not the same as they were in 1975. The name may be identical, but the results probably not.

For the record: All powders vary from lot to lot. Ammo makers test each lot and adjust the powder charge to yield the velocity they want. Powders of the same specifications (number) 1975 will be different from the powders in 2013, but no more so than normal lot to lot variation.
This lot of lot variation, plus the the differences in firearms, primers and projectiles are factored into loading data from 1975 as well as today. This is why they have "starting load" and "max loads". We have always been advised to begin with the starting loads and work up little by little to the max load but never beyond. Do this and nobody will get in trouble with 1975 data. Don't do this and you are courting big problem date of the data not withstanding.

Manuel is a guy who probably had a Mexican father and/or mother.
