I ordered the Slug pamphlet from BPI hoping for info on 20, 12 and 410 round ball loads. I have not called them but they list a wad column called LB12 &LGS 41 for 410, none listed for 20 g round ball. wondering if anyone tried these and how they may work in the following guns. Stevens 410-22, remington 870 smoothbore 12 g and a marlin 512 rifled slug gun. I have to look at my past posts to find something for my daughters 20 g. I am ignorant here and wonder does the wad column go in a trap wad? is it generally better to use the circle fly fiber wads instead? I was hoping to use my winchester AA hulls and their trap wads like for the lee slug rounds. I do not do well with clutter and want to keep it simple.

I use the Lee .690 ball in the LB12 Light Brush Wad shot cups, roll or fold crimp.

Fastest and easiest thing you will ever load and pretty good accuracy without jumping through a lot of hoops.

I also load the balls on top of a stack of two .125 Nitro Cards and one 1/2" Hard Card Wad or fiber wads. Using a 1/2" softer fiber wad right under the ball allows the ball to "set back" into the wad, just like you sitting in a chair, and does a good job of centering the ball in the bore.

I forgor to mention that Ballistic Products also sells a 20 gauge version of the brush wad, the BW20. I use them in skeet and dove loads, and I am going to try them with a .490 ball.

I have a brand new Lyman .535 RB mold, still in the plastic wrap that I might try if the .490 ball in a wad doean't work out.

Cerberus it is great to hear BP sells a 20 g brush wad, I hope to find them and shoot 575 rb. I saw that use of any 1 1/8 shot load does well for round ball I usually start a load at 15% below max and work up to find accurate loads. My big goat this year is finding a light load that my daughter can harvest a deer at 25 yards with. If I can really get one gun and load a year going well I would be "realistically Happy" At this rate my grand future grand children will have some really cool stuff to shoot granted my kids are 20, 9, and 6. Did I mention I did not plan well or at all they all love to hunt.
