Just picked one up last night from a buddy of mine. It still has the hang tag on it. It is unfired other than the importers test. Any tips or tricks with this one? I would like to get the Lee mold for it and shoot a crap load of cast bullets downrange, but was looking for some advice/opinions. Thanks, Evan.:castmine:

...............Nice rifles. Intermediate action length M98. Slug the barrel. The Lee slug is a good one for 8x57's that don't have a loooooong throat and leade. People have had such good luck with it there was even a GB done on it (but with a FN).

With the 8x57 case capacity there are a TON of good loads as there are for most any of the old full power military cases.

Besides the Unique loads mentioned there are (among many others):

14.0 - 18.0 2400
18.0 - 22.0 4227 or SR4759
22.0 - 26.0 4198 or RL7
26.0 - 30.0 3031

Get the 8MM Karibiner from Midsouth or Graf or whoever has it. Load it infront of 13.0 Red Dot. No recoil to speak of and leetle teeny groups. Or load it up to 2200fps and disembowl Bambi in one fell swoop. (Always wanted to use that phrase!)

Now I gotta wonder what a "swoop" is....
