By mistake, I loaded 50 rounds for my Krag with some .314 sized boolits. I didn't realize what happened until I chambered the first round and it felt quite sticky because of the expanded case neck. I pulled the boolits with my RCBS collet puller, but the gas checks pulled off and about half of them remain near the bottom of the case necks. Any ideas on how to remove them without wasting the powder and primer? At over 2 cents apiece, I'd also reuse the gas checks.

Thin pair of hemostats (roach clip) turn check sideways, grab and pull. Onlyist way I know of. Been there, done that.

This has happened to me too. I pull the bullet then use my case mouth expander then I get the gas check turned sideways in the case and use a small needle nose pliers to grab the gas check and pull it out. Works everytime so far.

Try a small pocket screwdriver. Hooks into the check & pulls em out right now...not that I ever screwed up & needed to or anything like that of course...

Turn'em side ways with whatever and drag'em out by the shank with a dental pick. Needle nose pliers were too big for me.

Just curious. What size are you sizing to for the Krag ?? I size at .312.

My Krag has a .310 bore and I size everything .311. The boolit I use the most in it is the 314299. Those destined for the Krag are sized .311, but the ones that i mistakenly loaded were for a Mosin M44.

You may be able to slightly squeeze the neck to elongate it. Then they slip right out and resizing takes care of the neck distortion.

I've has a few "Ah, Sh_ts!" with .223 cases and they're a bear even with hemostatds./beagle
