My childhood rifle succumbed to the elements long ago, wish I still had it for my boys. It was an '03 with the bullet attached to the bolt. Looks like they still make a version, but best I can tell they don't come with the bullet anymore...

I remember some kid in the family having one, but it wasn't me. I think they came along after I had graduated to the real thing.IIRC

I believe Bakelite is a plastic? Turn of the last century. Never heard of a Paris rifle.

I had a Parris as a kid. I still have it somewhere. Wood stock with blued metal and a gold colored wooden bullet that is spring loaded in the bolt.
As I got older I took a "scope" off another broken toy gun, molded a mount from modelling clay and used duct tape to fasten the scope on to make it into a sniper rifle.

Didn't know it was a Parris, but I had one. Sometime around '70 or '71. Mine must have been new old stock, because it had the gold painted wooden cartridge. A buddy had the Kentucky rifle- it would shoot cork balls propelled by a cap. Don't think they were made in China back then.

I had many cap pistols as a kid. Most had names like Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy, etc. Few ever lasted from one Christmas to the next as they saw almost daily use and the pot metal would wear out.

Im old enough to have to admit that i had a couple of them when i was young. I think it was a standard Christmas present for all the boys in the neighborhood.

I got mine in 65-66 gold colored wood bullet. Put it on lay away and paid my allowance on it every week. I can still remember getting it. O.d. Green web sling and rubber bayonet. It may still be at the home place.

I remember the OD green sling, but I don't remember a bayonet, rubber or otherwise, or any way to mount it. Mine didn't have a red/orange muzzle, either.
