I need some load recommendations for a 45 long colt using a 137 grain round ball over Unique powder. I知 currently using the ball over 4.6 to 4.7 grains of Unique. Accuracy is very good at 7 yards but I知 looking for something with a little more oomph. In addition, I知 getting some irregular burns using the above load; so, I知 thinking that a tad more powder may give me better burn consistency. Your thoughts?

I知 shooting these rounds from a Pietta 1858 Remington reproduction with the conversion cylinder provided by Taylor痴 & Co.

BTW, I have about 12 lbs of Uinque on hand and close to 5 lbs of Red Dot - I prefer to stick with them.

Switch to 4 gr of Red Dot and work up untill accuracy goes south or you get the "oomph" you want. Assuming a lubed RB?

Thanks Larry, I give it a go. Is Red Dot less position sensitive than Unique?

Yes, the RBs are lubed with Alox.
