..........PLB60, welcome and welcome. Hum, ya got a fat one there. I've heard of people utilizing that Lee mould for such. Mid-South also carries the custom Oldfeller 8mm Maximum and Karabiner (both heavyweights) and they're a bit bulgy. Don't know about .327" and a bit though. The Turk boreform is equal width lands and grooves and those wide lands may just upset enough metal into the grooves to do the job. They're cheap!

plb60, Welcome to the board. I can't offer any help with your extra roomy Turkish 8 X 57, as I have been very lucky with three misurps that all slugged .324. Anybody else out there find an oversize Turkish barrel? I've been lingering over Turk ads-they're sure cheap enough, but it would be nice to get one with a snugger barrel.

Throats, bores -- heck we can't even agree on what "bore rider nose" means neither.

What do you want from this group, consistency ??

............Curmudgeon, my M88/14/35, and M38 Turk both have .324" throats and .323" grooves. I think they were made right, from the beginning. The problem is their use, care and storage after that. If you can get one with a good clean sharp barrel, I'd bet it'd be right.

Gee thanks, Buckshot. You just made the ads in Shotgun News look even less resistible!

That should be a fine bullet, with a good alloy, water dropped and with plenty of lube, you should be able to get 2200-2400fps.
.002 over groove diameter is usually about right for cast bullets,Lee has a .329 sizer die, you should call Lee and find out what gas check the bullet was designed to use, 8mm or .35.

Lee 329 mould uses an 8mm gas check. Getting reasonable results in my 1895 Styer with it. Mel
