On Monday gone by, I placed an order with Midway for a Lee 6 gang mold in .452-230-RNTL. It arrived yesterday. Upon opening the package, I discovered there were no handles. I called Midway and the nice gentleman informed me that the 6 gang molds do not include handles. Another $22 and wait 'till next weekend.

Time to change my handle to BD for big dummy.

Do their handles include the easy open lever?

The sprue lever comes with the mold. Handles sold separately.

Well, if you are a dummy so am I. I did the same things 13 years ago when I purchased my first Lee six holer. The other Lee molds came with handles and I didn't read the fine print where it said the 6 holers didn't.

Those handles are on sale at midway for 10.99, call them back and get the current price. I put up a thread yesterday in Casting Equipment with a direct link.

Nut,
The nice gentleman at Midway told me the handles are on sale. I ordered them.

Charger,
Thanks, Bud. Now, I don't feel so bad.

(I'm still a big dummy)

Make room at the casting site for a pile o' boolits. They'll overwhelm ya in short order.

Keep a few ignots on the edge of the pot to preheat. You will drain a pot in a hurry with the 6 cavity moulds. With a 230gr boolit you will get about 30 per pound. That is only 5 cycles of the mould or about 2.5 to 3 minutes at my rate of pour. I add alloy and sprues to the pot after using 1/3 to 1/2 of the pot. This keeps your flow rate reasonably consistant and temp vatiations to a minimum.

I use a 20# bottom pour and can do 300 good boolits an hour easy if I can keep alloy in the pot. You will too once you figure out what works for you. Be sure to preheat that mould good to prevent breaking the sprue cutting handle. If you start too cold it is possible to snap the handle off at the plate due to the pressure applied to cut cold alloy

I borrowed some handles off of another mold, will wait till I have a substantial order ready again from midway and include it.

Their wish list feature is nice for this....
