has anyone tryed one i hand a tc encore and it could not handle the recoil sights kept coming loose and the stock broke

I have one and i shoot a 380 gr. And 440 lrf
it is fun to shoot recoil is not bad.

I read some reports of the earlier models that would break open upon firing. Hopefully they fixed that!

Been shooting heavy caliber TC Encores for years, never had that happen.

i have one of these .500 H&R's

it is a very fun gun
i often carry it when bear hunting, and some times even deer hunting

and i have had the issue on firing before, not often.
but it dose happen

A former member here had some good posts on his 500 Handi using the Lee R.E.A.L. 250 grain boolit. His old posts might still be here and he listed loads, velocities and such.

As far as Handi Rifles opening under heavy recoil, I read a lot of comments about folks who corrected the problem by cleaning and removing excess grease from the breach locking catch mechanism. I have shot some rather brisk loads in my Classic Carbine 45 Colt and she never opened up on me. All the same, I cleaned her up per the recommendations just in case.

AND when you close them, do so with authority! They don't like to be treated like a lady!

I was referring to the Handi Rifle, not the T/C. Never seen an Encore come unlocked.

I have one and shoot 440 g and 570 g. Loaded warm they will get your attention. I have never had mine come open. I did keep the latch an pivot clean. I love that rifle.
