Any idea what this item is?

This item was in an old cigar box of miscellaneous reloading parts that I purchased last year. I don't have a clue what it once belonged to. Its made of aluminum and is a decorative plate of some kind. Any ideas?

I believe it is a grip cover off a thompson center contender pistol grip

Yes, second generation grips. That covered the mounting screw hole in the grip.
