I have what I believe to be a pure lead 100lb ingot .I need to look at again and write down the casting marks to make sure . My father bought it the early 70's and we cast .44 cal round balls and sinkers from it (just a pound or two). I was just wondering what kind of mix of this with whatever would work good for some 9mm's to run thru my Sten? There is no thing as cheap ammo these days so casting seems to be a viable option. I also would like to cast for my M1 carbine also. So what kind of mix would work well with these two rounds?

Try one pound pure to two or three pounds clip on wheel weights.

If you can find it, try two to three pounds pure to one pound Linotype.

You can buy Clip On wheel Weights already smelted from members here.
Saves a LOT of mess and work.

Yep... Use it. I like 50/50 lead and WW's. Can go just like William says.. 2 to 3 and be fine. I water drop all. Use the lead.
