Does anyone know if the Aimtech no-drill scope mount designed for High Standard .22 pistols would fit an HD Military model? I emailed Aimtech but received no response. My eyes are becoming old enough to need red dot scopes, especially shooting indoors it seems. Thanks.

If your gun has the military ( 1911 military style grip frame ) yes !
If its the slant grip, no ! this type of mount puts the red dot sight higher on the pistol than barrel scope base mounting.

IF you have a bull barrel on your pistol and its drilled & tapped for under barrel weights ? there is a company called lovell who make a scope mount for that application.( see Rim Fire Centrial . Com) under Hi Std & do a search
If you have a pushbutton barrel take down with a stud on the rear lower portion of the barrel for attatchment to the frame ? there are good quality replacement barrels avalible from Brownells for about $130.00 as well as a scope mount @$30.00 LPS brand that i can highly recomend.

I had an old M106 push button model sitting in the safe. Had a 6" bull barrel w compensator and barrel weights mounted. Wanted to fit a can to it, but did not want to cut the original barrel so I bought the LPS replacement bbl from Brownell's and had it cut and threaded. Mounted a Burris red dot on it ... works great!

I realize that this is an OLD post, but I just traded into a couple HS sport kings. I would like to have one of them threaded for a can, and have a mount for an RDO. The threading is straight forward enough, but the mounting of a rail is where I have no experience. Any gunsmithing outfits that have experience with HS sport kings ( I am also not at all up to speed on all the variations of the design, and if the SKs differ much from other offerings.

Initially I though to have a dovetail cut, then add a piece of rail, but in the above pic it appears that it may have been a D&T affair, with a piece of rail that has an under side that matches the HS BBL contour.

Thoughts?

No idea on the can, I never wanted to buy what is essentially a lawn mower muffler for more money than I have spent on good vehicles.

For the scope/ red dot base: It should be a simple drill and tap operation. The only halfway difficult part may be to find one that matches the contour of your barrel.
