I got the lee 10# pro IV as it was all I could find. It gets the job done but has some short comings. The first of them to be addressed is no mold rest, having a nuro-muscular disease my arms get shaky after about 30 min. I got some 1/4-20 all thread and used my wood stove as a forge so I could get good bends in it. After about 2hrs (saw blade broke had to use bolt cutters) I got this.

I ran the top across my bench grinder to give it a flat surface and it is now tumbling in prep for powder coat. I drilled a 1/4" hole in the base so I can bolt this on or pull it off as needed. It is adjustable as well. More picks to come.

Well the powder coat could have gone better but it still works fine. I did the dip method as I don't have the pc gun yet. Her is the finished product.

Funny I spend 50+ hours a week at work as a machinist to come home and make stuff on my day off. Good part is it has no +/- .001 tol.

Hi, Raven, that is a good mod, I want to copy it for my Pro IV pot. I have lost track of powder coating technology in recent years, can you tell how you did the support coating? Thanks
Jack

Powder coat from harbor freight $4.99. Heat the part in toaster oven (not one you plan to eat from after) about 150 deg f. Then dip in powder and shake. Bake in toaster oven @ 350 for 10 to 15 min, let cool.

Nicely done. I've got the same problem, but planned to use a piece of 2x4 under the spout. Not as sexy, but, hey...

My Pro 4-20 came with two legs under the front of the pot with a mould rest on the left leg. Maybe they have changed something or yours is missing them?

That is because he has a Production pot IV, not a Pro 4-20

I like it I am going to have to do something like that on my Pro 4-20 because I don't like the mold rest it came with. Hey dip powder coat is fine I did a a bunch of jigheads last night with a heat gun. Heat dip heat works like a dream, OK I did heat dip and melt one :(

I added a piece of flat aluminum supported by two 1/8-inch bolts for support. It's not pretty either but works.
