Back a couple of years ago when I got hurt and for a long time since I have had to sell guns to help pay bills. I ended up selling around 16 guns I think, and one was my .22 Remington Model 33 that belonged to a good friend of mine and was my Numero Uno squirrel killing gun. Back when I got the gun in 2000 I put a Weaver fixed 4 power scope because it looked good and was great on the bushytails, but then I found a Weaver 3/4 inch 3-6 power scope that made it so much better. One summer my parents place was over run with squirrels and chipmunks after a bad drought and I shot about 50 of them, around two to three every day. I went through a lot of standard velocity and CB's because they were quiet. Most were head shots. One nice thing is that this gun was made in 1934 and it has some of the nicest wood I have ever seen. Unfortunately the guy I sold it to never believed in cleaning or oiling the gun over the last two years and the wood is a little dry so I am going to give it a Tru-oil refinish and I already gave it a thorough cleaning internally. I can't wait to get this gun back into the woods, when I used to go to the range with it, I would put clay targets at the 125 yard mark and blast them and then hit the fragments. I have owned a lot of .22 rifles over the years but none would keep up with this gun.
