I came into 8lbs of Unique and want to load it in 357 mag for my rossi rifle but i cant find any load data for this.

Can you all get me to a starting point that would be close to what i get from Win-296

I've been useing 296 at 14gn with a 158gn swc and it works very good but 1000 rds uses 2lbs of powder at $30 per pound and useing Unique would greatly cut my cost.

Thanks Steve

Unique will have a higher pressure than H110 to push bullets @ the same velocity. I cannot imagine any manual not having a load for Unique in 357 or 38 special but it will be at a lower velocity than H110/WW296.

What are you wanting to do with the 158's? Plates and paper or deer hunt? A nice plinking load is 5.5 to 6.0gr of Unique. You should see well over 1000fps in a rifle. It's also the recommended load for revolvers and that makes it a universal load that simplifies time at the workbench. Plus, you'll get 1166 - 1272 rds/lb !
