All this budget crisis and cabinet appointments are just "diversionary" tactics, while they turn the screws a little more on us.

Yesterday the prices fell to a lowly $3.85, 10 miles down the road the price is $392. When the HECK is this oil boom out in the brakken field supposed to ease gas prices?Robert

$3.59 here. Just 6 weeks ago it was $2.52. They say the price of oil went up. BS is what I say. Oil went up 8% and gas goes up 40%. Probably alot to do with the weakness of the dollar, because of all the spending in DC. Weaker dollar, oil goes up to maintain the same value as the earlier stronger dollar. Add in the "greenies" want it to go up, so people will drive less.

Should have a gas pump with a Republican price and one with a Democrat price ($2 gallon higher fee).

Bakken field would help, but getting the oil to market is tough. No real decent size pipelines to haul the oil out. It goes by rail or truck mainly

the bakken isn't producing enough oil to make a dent.
thank your leader.
he stopped the pipeline otherwise we would also have oil from canada coming through it.
instead the canadian oil went west and across the ocean to china.
[everybody thank jugears] THAaaaanks jugEeears
they are shipping all the oil they can from the bakken to the refineries
the same way it was shipped when j.p. morgan owned the oil,
and vanderbilt owned the railroads.....
only slower and further.

I heard they stopped the pipeline due to over 65% of the oil coming thru it would be sold on the world market, not sold in the U.S.

I too have noticed the rapid increase in gasoline prices over the past few weeks. Even more concerning is that it not yet summer when people tend to use more gasoline. 15% of the citizens of our country are on food stamps. If they need to buy gasoline or anything else that is going up in price exactly how are they to make ends meet. We shipped ur jobs out of the country and with that shipped the ability to make a living to Mexico and then China adn then everywhere else peope are happy to work for pennies. The rest of us shopped at Wal Mart and saved a few pennies while totally ending the possibility of a USA company making and selling anything. The combined wealth of the Walton family (6 people descendents of Sam Walton who started Wal Mart) is equal to the total wealth of the lower 30 or 40%of the United States. They got rich and most people got poor.

I now drive a lot less than I used to and still spend about $450 a month on gasoline. It was not that long ago I dove a lot for work and feared the $200 monthly gasoline bill.

When the government prints money and inflates away your buying power it is just another form of taxation. Back in the 1970s as a business school student we laughed about how crummy countries in South America would do this to fund themselves. I fear there is no answer. Enjoy the day. Tomorrow is not as predictable as in the past.

Bama wanted to make sure all the Dems had enough money to pay for gas to get to the poles in November.... Now that he is re-ellected he doesn't care.

The way I see it is if we can get oil from Canada we should. Why use up OUR supplies first?

I think we are still at least 50 years away from an effective and economical "green" vehicle. Sometimes you just can't "force" technology.
In the mean time we still need fossil fuels. We are cutting our own throats by not developing some refineries. If we got in a war that caused our foreign supplies of oil to get cut off we would barely be able to keep our military fueled much less anything else.

Gas is $3.69 to $3.89 here in the DFW area. Just 25 miles north it is $0.30 cheaper! Does not make sense! And less than 2 months ago it was $3.29 a gall on here. Oil prices have not changed that much. It's all market manipulation!

And when they change over to the "summer blend" it will go up another .25 to .30 cents!

B H O said after winning in 2008 that he wanted $6.00 a gal gas,he wanted X 2 on utilities,he wanted,he wanted,he wanted re election.

Well he got the whole 9 yards so hold onto your hats cause you ain't seen nothing yet.
We have hugh amounts of crude IF we were allowed to tap it.
We have hugh amounts of crude IF we were allowed to transport it to a refinery.
We have hugh amounts of crude IF we were allowed to build a refinery for the first time in 40 years.
We have hugh amounts of crude IF we were allowed to build ONE refinery to handle SWEET crude.
We have hugh amounts of crude IF we were allowed to get rid of the politico that is preventing us from doing what AMERICA does best. Be creative and put millions to work instead of on food stamps.
We have hugh amounts of crude IF we were allowed to refine it and sell it HERE keeping AMERICAN dollars in AMERICA where they belong.

If we can figure this out why can't the Harvard graduated MULTI million dollar lawyer politicians figure it out?

Every year for six years my wife and I used to go to a photography symposium in Nevada about now and every year the price on fuel would go up about now and then go back down late in March. I thought it was a conspiracy just to irritate us on that trip.

I live a mile and a half from one of the largest refineries in the country. Within a fifty mile radius, there are a dozen refineries. Last weekend I filled up my Honda Fit (30+ MPG) for $3.50-something a gallon. Twenty miles west of here in Texas it's a dime cheaper due to difference in State taxes.

And FYI, the oil from those shale formations up north IS getting down here to refineries, except it's coming on on rail. An acquaintance who's an engineer says he's being questioned about facilities that will offload 120 railroad tank cars at a time, pumping into river barges or pipeline head stations.

Aside from the exposure to accidents that several 100-car trains a day might offer, as well as the exposure to moving crude oil by barge, every time you handle a product, it costs more. Kinda helps keep the price of gas up.

But "somewhere in the middle" in my profile has nothing to do with the price of gas, now does it.

Today, up here in Victoria, B.C., Canada regular gas just went up to $1.359 per LITRE which converts to $5.15 per US gallon ...
It has been as low a $1.149 per litre and as high as $1.559 per litre. It's up and down like a "yo-yo" these days!

January 30, 2013 crude oil closed at $98 a barrel on February 21, 2013 it closed at $93.05. What has happened to your pump prices in the last three weeks?

Local radio talk show had on an expert yesterday. His predictions for next few months:
California over $5.15.
Philadelphia, PA $4.20.

I hate to tell you guys but it ain't politics that drives the fuel prices it's GREED!

If you got stock or money in the oil business you just sit back and watch the money roll in, the more money you get the more you want and once you get to that point you don't care if Bill,John,Bud or Mary pays 1/8 of their paycheck just to get to work !

Money isn't the root of all evil it's the LOVE of money!
