These will go out to a fellow over on the Ruger forum after I get the medallions installed. Seems he likes
the fiddleback maple as much as I do :)

Have you ever tried Aqua Fortis? http://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categories/PartDetail.aspx/1025/1/AQUAFORT-2

It really makes the fiddleback pop! Takes some time though.

Nothing sets off stainless steel more than the maples. I just finished a set of burl maple for my Freedom Arms model 83 and it sure looks dressed up and ready to go! I have a small stock of fidle back maple (curly) for more projects. Yours sure look good!

Swindler1, have you ever posted a brief rundown on how you do this? I work with wood but have never tried this...but I'l like to. Those grips are just gorgeous!

Very nice work. I love nicely figured wood (and women for that matter).

I really like the SA stocks. I have recently began really appreciating maple since I am building a fiddleback maple stocked FN Mauser. The rifle is a 50 year old project that was never completed. The stock is a Fajen target stock that is purported to be from a AAA blank. It is going really pop with some finish. The action is an in the white FN Deluxe with medium weight 26" barrel chambered in 22-250.
