I bought a bag of 50 Winchester 243wssm brass it was 39.00 shipping brought the bill up to 54.00 If I wanted another bag it would be 15.00 more for shipping. It is hard to find brass for this right now I think they make it every few years.

Spot market for copper is as high as it's ever been, in terms of USD. Thank the Fed and Obama. It's not going to get any better, and it'll probably get a lot worse. Get what you need while you can.

You could probably fit 150 WSSM in one. That guy is making a big margin on shipping or he's using an expensive carrier.

The feds or Obama has nothing to do with metal prices. China is buying all they can and rather than have a freighter sit in port for a month while the scrap metal trickles in, they're paying double and triple what the commodities market usually pays and the scrap pours into the scrap yard from all the recyclers and the Chinese freighter gets loaded fast and sails to China. Basic economics.

I would definitely look elsewhere. $15 shipping on 50 rounds of brass is outrageous.

More so than the demand from China, the reason metal prices are so high is the same reason gas is so high: the Commodities Trading Act of 2000, which deregulated futures trading and allowed purchases on futures contracts with lower margin requirements. It is no coincidence that 2000 was the first year we started having severe summer spikes in pump prices.
