Anyone else like to BBQ smoke their roasts instead of putting them into the oven all the time? Just curious ...

I usually hit them with some kind of home made marinade (usually different every time) and leave them in the fridge overnight, and then use a dry rub (also often home made) and then smoke them on our BBQ with a couple of small recycled food tins filled full of wood chips. Last time I used some Hickory chips and this particular roast was absolutely awesome! From memory I think I smoked this one for about 3 to 4 hours at about 250 degrees and changed out the chips whenever they quit smoking ... about every 1/2 hour or so ...

Awe, you gave away my secret. Try smoking a roast before adding it to a pot full of veggies. The smokey flavor doesn't leave the meat but sure makes carrots and onions tasty.

You was able to grill out up north there? I see a green bush or tree in that 1st pic. You sure you live in B.C.??? lol

I've got a brisket in the oven, put it in about 2pm. What i did was took 1 cup water, 1/4c KC style BBQ sauce, a big splash of soy sauce and a big splash of liquid hickory smoke and poured it over the brisket.
Then added Mrs dash garlic and Herb and Seasoning salt and Hot Hungarian paprika to the roast. Put potatoes and carrots around it and wrapped it up in foil.
Put it in oven on 325*, probably will cook it till the wife gets home around 8:30 tonite....
Smells dang good.....

Sure! We're out here on the "Wet Coast" and we hardly ever get any Igloo weather around here ... although these were shot over the BBQ on the same deck last year in January!

Heck, when the weather is good though, sometimes we get dinner delivered right to the front door!
:-D

BBQ on a gasser? Will wonders never cease:) The only decent thing I ever cooked on my gasser was a somewhat edible burger.
