No liquid Alox - how about the tube?

I need to tumble lube some cast boolits, but the store had no liquid Alox. I got a tube of solid Lyman anyway, because it was there and I wanted to load tonight.

Can I just melt a chunk then tumble with it in a cup? Microwave?

The Lyman is probably 50/50 bw & alox. So it won't tumble lube quite the same unless you thin it quite a bit.

If you have an old cookie sheet heat the bullets in the oven to about 160-180 deg and just run the stick of lube over then and it will melt onto the bullets. Before the bullets cool dump into a ziploc bag and mush them around a bit. DO NOT apply the lube in the kitchen if you value your marriage! Hot alox stinks to the high heavens.
