Yesterday, I went to a local gun show just to look for reloading stuff. Very long line to get in, but as soon as I got in, there was the reloading supplies:-D I was able to get one box of large pistol primers and two boxes of small pistol primers. No limits on how many you could buy, but I only had enough money with me to get the three boxes. I was happy to find them and I now have enough, to not worry for awhile.

Good deal. If you dont mind me asking, what did you pay for those per thousand?
I just like to keep a pulse of what things cost.
Thanks.

So far my LGS has had a good supply of primers in all sizes. Did the same thing yesterday and came home with 3,000 to add to my stash. He also has a really good supply of cast boolets (Magnus) for those who like the store bought pills.

Maybe things are looking better for those of us who roll their own. However, factory ammo is still limited in my neck of the woods especially 22lr.

Depending on mfg. they range between $38 to $46 with tax. CCI primers are the lowest.

I was fortunate to get large pistol primers from a friend who no longer loads LP for $33.00M as that was what he had paid for them. He also let us have some SP and SR for what he paid a year ago. It pays to have friends.

101airborne, the small and large were each $39.99 per 1000. They were CCI, which are the only brand I've ever used in my 2 plus years of reloading.

My lgs has had a steady supply of powder and primers. They did raise prices ten percent though.

Yes, but that was before the panic. That seems to be about normal now. And this will seem cheap six months from now!

It seems to keep getting worse. I paid 15 per k about 8 months and decided to maximize it and bought a whole case of 50. Glad I took that investment

Count your blessings, I went to one this weekend. Zero primers, j-words etc. Zero dies, presses etc. Prices if you looked were about the same on the odds and ends but the major end items( all the odds and ends put togeather) were ridiculious. AR's with mil-spec chamber and bcg's ( no chrome or other plating), with off the shelf accessories that shouldn't run more than a few hundred had tags well north of $1599.00, for a 750.00 or 850.00 dollar gun. The usuall "closet finds" were there as well at a decent markup if you were looking for a paticular item. I found a well loved Wingmaster that needed some TLC for 250.00, I passed but it would have made a great project gun with the kids. What shocked me more than anything were the $$$ on magazines. Not just pistol. ANY mag was in the 50.00 range above 22lr/wmr cal. I did find a gent with an old 155 box filled with steel M-16 mags with the green followers at 19.95 a piece. Five or more 17.00 each.

I guess the most suprising aspect were the ammount of folks looking for cash sales. No trades that day, of the couple I asked the answer was the same. "I need the money for an AR." I'm sure I would have made a good profit off one of mine, but I guess I'm like my Dad and "It's all for sale except the guns and the kids." ;-)

Be a good time for someone to start up a primer making business, selling only to the public not to be placed in manufactured ammo.

Barrck Obama has sold more guns iin last 2 months than K-mart did in last 30 years!! Our governor Cuomo has passed the "SAFE" act, and everyone is hoping he will have a stroke, or plane crash, along with Silver the assembly speaker, and Skelos the senate leader. Next April will tell, I expect mass civil disobedience.
We have counties resolving to not enforce the act, and sherriff sending letters ditto. Hide your stuff, they want to do this nationwide.

I didn't know Kmart sold guns? Anyway, I agree. Our prez has been the best gun, ammo, reloading supplies salesman ever. Clinton just thought that he was good. And he was till Obummer showed him up big time.

I just bought 2k of pistol primers from a local guy who just got in a bunch: $25/k. I think prices will return to a more reasonable level in a few months when people realize that congress isn't going to pass anything.

Now if the D's take the House in '14, all bets are off.
