Smelter Valve ?

I am building a 12" smelting pot. Someplace in here I saw a drawing of a valve that someone made. Now I can't find it. I have a friend who has access to lathes, milling machines, etc, so I want it right the first time. Pictures please!

You can use a car scissor jacks threaded rod and the female threaded nut.
