Check out Midway's ammo boxes. Cardboard box with foam insert.

Your 400 gr 40's should fit very well in a 9mm box.

Or go dumpster diving at the local range, should be plenty of discarded boxes there.

I use some small plastic boxes my wife found at Hobby Lobby. They look like a scaled down version of the plastic storage boxes you might use to organize your garage or closet, right down to the clip on lids. They measure about 2 x 2 x 4 inches and hold about 250 .30 cal 185 gr. rifle bullets. They come in packs of 5. I tried to find them on their website so I could post a link, but had no luck. She got them in the "Scrap Booking" department.

I use miner bit boxes. Somewhere on here in lost pages of long ago, I posted a pic of them. They'll hold a lot. I bet I have close to 1500-2k in one box of lubed 250gr keiths.

I use cooky tins. No need to keep them separate, just fill the tins.

I just got a bunch of sandwich boxes from the dollar tree. They have a lid that latches on and even has a rubber seal.I bought all they had at the local store, came in four colors. A box will hold about 260 - 452 200gn swc on two levels separated with cardboard. They were a buck each, I cast 9, 40, & 45. Each one has its own color box, hmm for colors sounds like I need another caliber.

I have been using the plastic tubs lunch meat comes in these days. It works well, I can see inside, and they stack well full and nest when empty. I caught myself the other day buying different brands to color code the lids by caliber.

I too use the tubs luncheon meat arrives in. Haven't been organized enough to color code though.

I store bullets in styrofoam innards intended for 45 ACP ammunition, but that is not 'enclosed storage'.
For that, I use plastic ammo boxes purchased at the gun store that hold a hundred rounds of 45 ACP.

But, I don't lube any BPCR bullets that will see long term storage.

I'm using coffee cans to store brass and new bullets in but once loaded I am using Franklin Arsenal 50 round ammo boxes. I got them in 10 packs from Midway a while back. They are about a $1.60 each normally however I got them for about $1.27 each.

Dollar General stores have clear plastic food containers for about 3 for a dollar. The 1 pint ones hold a whoop of cast boolits, have lid, stackable, can see thru.

I use the plastic jars that hold pickles. Butter tubs, plastic spaghetti jars. I tell my friends that reload commercial lead to save their boxes for me.

Hey Guys,
I build doll beds and have several little plastic boxes the screws come in and have saved a few. Also find someone with a small child that uses Gerber baby food. Those little plastic boxes with lids are great for storing small things.

I just went to Wally World and got some round tupperware that was flat on the bottom. After I filled the bottom up with lubed boolits, I cut a piece of cardboard to fit snugly inside and built another row. I have over 1500 of them in that one container. I have quite a few of those containers of various sizes filled up. Works great and you can stack them according to caliber.

Pick through the trash at your local public range and retrieve the .45 ACP boxes. I think Winchester is one of the few still using styrofoam inserts, but there are several using solid plastic trays with thin partitions to divide into 50 square holes.

If you know a house framer/deck builder ask him to save the plastic containers deck screws come in. Even have a handle on some of them. I use them for bulk unorganized storage. Just fill them at random. Also useful are the containers the wet wipe tissues come in.

Office Max has 4" cardboard boxes. By layoring the boolits you should be good for 700-1K per box.

T V dinner trays also work great as parts containers on tour bench.

Large plastic boxes Brownies come in. Not as sturdy as cookie tins but who cares if the brownies are good. Oh, and Pulled Pork trays, slow smoked..... One of them will hold 1000+ Boolits in 3 layers.

Whenever Buckshot and I go to the range we collect all the plastic gartridge holders that come in ammo boxes. The boxes that 45 ACP come in are good for 40 or 45 bullets and they are free since people who don't reload discard them anyway. They do stack nicely.

If you store your boolits in used USPS flat rate boxes that is ok, but new and no funds paid for mailing is illegal. These cost the post office and if they don't get the money for shipping then the rates have to go up to cover the cost of people "stealing" these "free" boxes.

I store my 40 cal 400 gr boolits in the plastic 45acp boxes if they are lubed.
