I searched, and searched for the best load for my Rossi 92s, and found a heavy .45 load that was impressive in a rifle. 25gr. WC820 (AA9) 250gr slug. for the 24 inch oct. barrel rifle. and 19gr for the carbine and Vaqueros new and heavy.
I know 19 is pretty heavy for NV. but I have shot many rounds with no pressure signs. Do you feel this is unsafe? 19gr. WC820/ 250gr lead RNFP in .45 Colt from a Ruger New Vaquero. Ace

From your description, the loads you are using are safe. If you chrono your loads and they show excessive speed, then you are internally stressing your moving parts, both human and mechanical, a little too much. What is your powder's lot number? Pulldown or brand new powder? Some lots are as slow as 296. ... felix

#50284 pulldown. It is not an uncomfortable recoil at 19. With the 25gr. loads in the heavy Vaquero wants to twist out of my hand, one handed smooth grips. So I don't use it in pistols anymore. No fun, less accurate and that afterall is the goal. Suprisingly the little carbine is also more accurate with 19. The shock of the round seems to throw it off, but the heavy barreled rifle LOVES the 25. Fairly accurate to 1/4 mile. Ace

Performance is terrific with this load. It burns clean, it didn't clean up until 18.3 gr. Do you know what pressure 820 needs to completely ignite? New cases still look almost new. More soot from the primer than the powder. I can't say enough good about this powder in .45 Colt. Ace
