I have a box of 1000 148gr HBWC boolits that I thought I would develop a load with. I had an opened bottle of Trail Boss and decided to try it out. I looked up the load options in my Hogdon handbook and went with the max load for a 38 Special. The rounds worked great in my Ruger GP100. Accuracy was great and recoil was minimal. Anyone else use Trail Boss in their .357 Mag WC loads?

I like 2.7 gr behind the lee 148 WC, standard lube groove. I tumble lube it with recluse 45/45/10. 38 spl cases.

Velocity is around 650 in my gp100, I think. Great combo, in my opinion, and pretty economical. Since I bought 4 cans of trail boss, I am glad I found a load that it works well with.

I'll have to try chronographing some longer strings, see what the SD comes to. Seems to be pretty consistent.
