Out of curiosity, any of you using LP Mag primers in your 45's? I've been feeding three different 45's and I'm down to 1,100 standard LP primers. If this shortage continues very much longer I may try to develop a load using Mag primers. I've got about 6K Mag LP primers.

They will shoot OK but you might have to work some loads. The case is really too small for the primer pressure.

I use Winchester WLP primers for nearly all my 45 Auto loading, many people do. (Winchester doesn't make a standard lpp) If you load any really hot 45 Auto stuff with standard primers just back off a bit and see where you're at before diving in with the magnum style primers.

All I ever use are WLP, so no problem ,cast and 185 JHP,230 JHP's.

Yes, I plan to back off the load even though I'm about middle of the road on my powder charge now.
Hopefully I'll get my hands on some standard LP primers before I run out. I've got some on back order so we'll see.

IM have used 15K FED LPM primers in place of FED LP with excellent results in the 45 acp. just work up the load with LPM primers.
Why? because i got a really good price on 25K about 10 years ago @$15.00 per K

Those days are long gone. I don't want to tell what the price tag on some of my powders say.

Midway USA seems to restock faster than a lot of other places. However, they will sell out in a matter of hours these days, so bookmark what you want from their sight and check it often.

I've got 10,000 Wolf on back order at Garf's. They were ordered several weeks ago. Maybe they will come in before I run out. I've got 1,100 standard left but I'm low on 45 ammo and will be loading this week for a range trip next weekend.

You shouldn't see any difference using mag primers - over a chronograph, I saw no difference between Federal 150's, 155's and WLP's. You might see a difference with CCI350's ??

I use Fed 150's and WLP's with a 185 grain and the POI is exactly the same using VV N310 and WW231.
