Just in case any of you folks are wanting/needing to get your S&W mod 41 muzzle
brake clean - they are a real PITA, here's the good news. A guy on another forum
told me to try a mixture of 50/50 White Vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide. BINGO !!!
I let mine sit in the mixture for a couple of 3 days and you should see the garbage
in the bottom of the plastic container... Cleanest it's ever been, by a lot.

And just you know - DO NOT soak anything steel in this mix. The muzzle brake is,
of course aluminum, anodized. enjoy Mike

I was under the impression that aluminium was not to be "dipped" but that steel or stainless steel were okay.

Hope you didn't screw up your aluminium brake.

This information was obtained from multiple Suppressor related posts/sites in regard to cleaning lead buildup in suppressors. Please check and verify. Aluminum is supposed to be a no-no.

I verified this with my own muzzle break..Let it soak for 4 days. Got it clean, no damage whatsoever. Done

I use the same solution of chemicals on the muzzle break of my Marvel unit 1 conversion kit. It really does a nice job getting all the crud out.
